What is AI development? Can people with humanities backgrounds or who aren't engineers develop AI? A practical explanation covering everything from the G-Test to Python and API utilization.

AI creation doesn't just mean developing advanced AI from scratch.

  • I am interested in AI.

  • But I'm not a science major / I'm bad at math

  • A world separate from myself

  • It uses a lot of extremely difficult concepts like summation and differential and integral calculus, so you can't create anything solid without understanding statistics.

  • Books with "It's easy" written on the cover are lined up in bookstores, but what's "easy" for engineers is probably impossible for amateurs.

  • I understand that "AI is amazing," but I'm worried about whether I'll be able to keep up with the times if I only use ChatGPT/Gemini/Claud.

Is that so?
That's how I used to be.
For those of you in that situation, I, a financial institution employee with a liberal arts background in law, will explain...

  • G Test (I'm bad at math. I don't understand summation. I barely understand differential and integral calculus.)

At first, I didn't even understand what an algorithm meant.

  • I started with Python but gave up.

  • AI utilization (not just "using" AI, but "AI utilization" in general)

  • The feeling of connecting to the brain, eyes, ears, and mouth of an AI via an API.

This document summarizes how I learned these things, based on my personal experiences.

What is AI-generated content?

AI creation is not just about "creating the core brain of the AI."
AI development isn't just about creating an AI brain that costs hundreds of billions of yen.
That's impossible for one person to do alone.

What is meant by AI production here?

  • The brain, eyes, ears, and mouth of an AI (sometimes called the "model").

and

  • The appearance of AI (sometimes called the "front-end"; this refers to the part of the PC that is visible on the display where input and output are processed).

of

  • Connecting with the nerves of AI (there are languages and tools such as Python, Node.js, and Dify)

Our goal is to create the AI tools that you all want to realize.

Why did I, a liberal arts graduate working in an administrative position, decide to learn about AI?

I had some experience developing with VBA in Excel.
I also passed the IT Passport exam, which was recommended by my company.
I didn't really know what to do next.
English? IT?
Although I had a desire to grow, I was lost and didn't know where to go.

My story of starting with Python and then failing

I decided to give Python a try, even though I'd never used it before and was interested in it, but it was full of mysteries.
👉 Which should I learn first, the G-Test or Python? The correct order I learned after failing as a humanities student.

I started with Python, but then I realized I couldn't apply what I learned to other situations, and I got discouraged, wondering, "What should I do next to make it useful???"

The G-Test gave me the ability to see not just the "trees" but the "forest" of the AI world, and for me, it was a breakthrough in my understanding of AI.

What will you be able to do after taking the G-Test?

You'll be able to choose which aspects of AI you need to learn more about, essentially becoming "self-sufficient."
And it opens up the possibility of positioning oneself between those who "use" AI and those who "develop" it.
👉 What can you do after passing the G-Test? How to get started with AI utilization, even if you have a humanities background.

The reality of AI-generated content: You don't need to create everything from scratch.

In early April 2026, I happened to come across an AI Expo reel on Instagram.
Huh? Free? Really? I immediately clicked the button and registered to enter.

For those who want to start AI development

  • I remember a teacher saying during my student days, "Not understanding something can sometimes lead to fear." I was also quite apprehensive at first.

  • The G-Test is an excellent entry point for systematically learning about the history, technology outline, structure, laws, and current challenges of AI.

I hope these articles will encourage you to take a look at AI and at least give it a try.
